I’ll never forget the first time the icy waters of the North Atlantic hit my face, stealing my breath as I caught my first wave. Surfing that wild ocean felt like a kind of birth—facing fear head-on, letting it wash over me, and surrendering fully to the moment. The ocean has been a profound teacher ever since, mirroring the lessons I’ve learned through psychedelics. After all, everything is connected. The nature within us reflects the nature around us. How we move within ourselves if how we move through the world.
This understanding has profoundly influenced how I live, love, and work. My Assyrian heritage, rich with resilience and joy, forms the foundation of my perspective. And that combined with an insatiable curiousity has carried me far from home—from the streets of New York City, the remote tundras of Siberia, where I spent a summer with nomadic reindeer herders, and now to Iceland, where the raw, untamed nature feels like a kindred spirit.
My brother, Ben, was my first guide, introducing me to the inner landscapes of self-discovery. His influence, alongside my experiences with psychedelics and the ocean, drew me to psychology—a natural extension of my lifelong journey to deepen awareness and connection. Now, I help others explore their own depths, uncovering strengths, navigating life's waves, and finding joy even in its tumbles.
As Mary Oliver so perfectly puts it:
"When you hear, a mile away and still out of sight, the churn of the water as it begins to swirl and roil... then row, row for your life toward it."
This is the practice of life—living fully, embracing its deaths and rebirths, and surrendering to the beauty of it all. My heart is to witness your journey, to watch you dance with the waves of your own life, and to help you live it completely.
